AAR-HCSthe History of Christianity Section of the American Academy of Religion ![]() get involvedAt this time, there are three primary ways of getting involved with the work of AAR-HCS, namely:
If you would like to be a presenter at one of the AAR-HCS Annual Meeting sessions, you should send a paper proposal to the section leadership in February or March. Note that in accordance with AAR bylaws, all Annual Meeting presenters must be current, paid-up members of the AAR. AAR-HCS will post the current CFP on this website in early December when it is finalized. The submission deadline varies slightly from year to year, but it is usually in the first week of March. The 2006 Business Meeting will be held immediately following session A18-13, which is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 18, at 9 a.m. The Business Meeting will begin after the end of session discussion, probably around 10:45 or 11 a.m. All interested AAR members are welcome to attend. Discussion will focus on shaping future plans for AAR-HCS and specifically on formulating a draft CFP for 2007. For more information about the Annual Meeting schedule, visit this page. The AAR-HCS listserv, named HISTOC-L, was created in September 2006 to facilitate communication and conversation between participants in AAR-HCS activities. To join, send your request via email to Nathan Rein (nrein at ursinus dot edu). Please include for our records your institutional affiliation, rank if applicable, and area of specialization. For more information, including guidlines on how to use the listserv, visit this page. Don't hesitate to contact the section leadership if you have suggestions or thoughts for us. Thank you for your interest.
